ONSF Once Again Hosts Norwalk Community College PTA Students

ONSF once again welcomed the Norwalk Community College (NCC) Physical Therapy Assistant students this year after having to cancel the 2020 course due to COVID19.

NCC joined us on April 1st & 2nd and April 22nd & 23rd for the course entitled:  “Observation of Upper and Lower Extremity Dissection with Clinical Instruction” which took place at the ONSF Arthroscopy Surgical Skills and Biomechanical Research Lab.  Due to COVID concerns, class size had to be limited and COVID protocols were in place. Dr. Paul Sethi, Orthopedic Surgeon and ONSF president, mentored the 11 students along with a team of other surgeons.

The students enhanced their education by exploring the anatomy first-hand instead of learning only through text books. ONSF provided lab sessions consisting of hands-on dissection with detailed clinical instruction.

Samples of student feedback:

“Unbelievable experience!”

“Having an opportunity to view anatomy under the skin is priceless …The cadaver lab experience greatly enhances all the learning we do from textbooks.”

“Hands-on experience was great.”

Education is an integral component

of the ONSF mission. The NCC students were provided a unique learning experience, at no cost, to which they otherwise would not have access.  ONSF values and is proud of our ongoing partnership with Norwalk Community College.
