12th Annual ONSF Mini-Med School

ONSF recently wrapped up its 12th Annual Mini-Med School, held June 23 -26 at the ONSF Arthroscopy, Surgical Skills, and Biomechanical Research Laboratory in Greenwich, CT.
Sixteen exceptional high school students from public and private schools across the region took part in this immersive experience, gaining first-hand insight into orthopedic and neurological medicine.
Through interactive labs, lectures, and hands-on clinical skills training, including suturing, casting, and surgical simulations, they explored real-world practices while also learning the importance of teamwork, communication, and collaboration in healthcare.
Participants are selected through a nomination process led by science department heads from approximately 30 area high schools, each identifying rising sophomores and juniors who have shown a strong interest in science or medicine. It is an incredible opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of the field and explore future paths in healthcare.
A huge thank you to our physicians for generously sharing their time, knowledge, and enthusiasm to help inspire the next generation of medical professionals.
